Ensemble "Musica getutscht"

Experience the captivating world of early Baroque and Renaissance music (1550 - 1650) with "Musica getutscht"!

The ensemble "Musica getutscht" not only offers rarely performed repertoire in historically informed interpretations but also presents it within an intriguing context of art history, politics, and philosophy.

Founded in 2020 in Bremen, "Musica getutscht" has since collaborated regularly with renowned top-tier soloists under the artistic direction of lutenist Bernhard Reichel. These soloists include artists such as Emma Kirkby, Hana Blažíková, Marc Mauillon, Franz Vitzthum, Jan van Elsacker, Mechthild Karkow, Marie Luise Werneburg, and Dominik Wörner.

Since 2021, "Musica getutscht" has curated a highly acclaimed concert series in Bremen and Oldenburg. Particularly noteworthy are projects such as concerts featuring Emma Kirkby and the music of John Dowland in 2022, the performance of enharmonic music from Carlo Gesualdo to Domenico Mazzocchi with the corresponding microtonal instrumentation in 2023, a staged music theater evening with Domenico Bellis' "Orfeo dolente" and Banchieri's Madrigal Comedy "Il Metamorfosi musicale" in 2024, as well as the presentations of Emilio de Cavalieri's "Lamentationes" in 2023 and "Rappresentatione di Anima et di Corpo" in 2024.

With their entertaining, engaging, and yet musicologically well-informed programs, the ensemble can look back on a multitude of concerts. These include performances at the Elbphilharmonie, the "Alte Musik live" series at the Musical Instrument Museum in Berlin, the "Tage Alter Musik Medingen," "Alte Musik im Schloss" in Linz, Austria, the "Uckermärkische Musikwochen," as well as regular guest appearances in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich.

In March 2024, the debut album "Madonna e Maddalena" featuring soprano Pia Davila and music by composers such as Claudio Monteverdi and Salamone Rossi will be released under the label "CovielloClassics."
